Serving Jesus & Community for 52 Years
OUR PASTORS
Pastor James Epps attended our 50th Anniversary Celebration on May 18th. He was 93 and shared with us some of the history of Memorial Baptist Church.
Pastor Emeritus Don Mayo shared a message during the worship service. Bro Don has been the pastor of Memorial Baptist for 25 years. That is half of Memorial Baptist's history. We were blessed by his message on Sunday, May 18th.
Everyone should come and be a part of one of our special worship services to experience what God is doing.
We have a rich heritage at Memorial Baptist Church of growing and reaching the lost for Jesus Christ. Here are some photos of our transformation over the last 50 years.

Memorial Baptist Church began as a mission of Second Baptist Church October 6, 1957, with the attendance of nine people and an offering of $9.50 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fredwell. and Rev. James Epps. On December 1, 1957 the mission moved to the Baker Story building with an attendance of 30. On January 5, 1958, the mission group moved again to its first building (pictured on left) with 41 present. By January 18, 1959 there were 75 present, and by 1960 the attendance had grown to 87 with an offering of $176.58.

May 1959, the Second Baptist Church requested and was granted a loan from the Missouri Baptist Building Fund to purchase the property to erect the educational building, having and inter-auditorium on the first floor, on Easter Sunday, April 1961. Second Baptist mission was constituted as Memorial Baptist Church on Sunday, June 14, 1964, with 142 charter members.

The addition of the new Sanctuary was erected and dedicated in 1966. The church reported 220 resident members in their 1966 Associational Letter. Memorial Baptist Church continued to grow with the faithfulness of its membership

Currently Memorial Baptist Church is growing and moving into new areas of ministry in our local community and even contributing to ministries around the world. Our goal is to continue Share Jesus and Make Disciples.
