What would Jesus do (WWJD)? This phrase has been printed on all kinds of apparel. Have you noticed that most of the time this question is asked when we are struggling to operate in the fruit of The Spirit? It is apparent that the people asking this questions would be more capable of answering this question if they knew what Jesus did.
Jesus was a servant and a friend to the least likable people. Jesus pursued sinners and befriended them. Consider Zacchaeus. He was the Chief Tax Collector. He was such a cheater that he offered half his goods to the poor and a 4 fold return to everyone he had taken anything from, just to get even. Jesus saw him in a tree looking down and said “hurry up and come down I am going to stay at your house.” How many of us would stay in the home of a notorious sinner. Now let me flip it. We are all notorious sinners and need Jesus to dwell in our house. Jesus died for us and loved us without hesitation. We should show that same love to those who need to know Jesus. (John 13:34-35)
Lord, help us Do what Jesus Did (DWJD) be a friend to sinners and win them by the love that you show through us. Amen
