Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.
Chapter 4 is dedicated to teaching us how to resolve conflict within the body of Christ. First we must be humble. The ministry of peacemaking involves resolving conflict by making prompt apologies and acts of restitution, refusing to seek revenge, and humbly serving and loving one another. Our hearts should be pure. Not showing a false humility as the Pharisees did, but operating in love and humility as Christ showed us. Even if we have been wronged. Even if we are right. If we will humble ourselves James teaches that God will exalt us. God will set thing right. Vs 6 says God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. So watch God exalt us when we conduct ourselves according to His Word.
